Dr. Woody Childress provides psychological services for children, adolescents, adults, schools and agencies. Licensed as a psychologist since 1987, Dr. Childress has worked in Texas public schools and has maintained an active private practice. Although the primary focus of the private practice is serving children and adolescents, he will schedule apointments with adults as time permits. Currently not scheduling any appointments.
A graduate of the School Psychology program of the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Childress has served as a psychologist for the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District (retired June 2017), the Arlington Independent School District, and the Fort Worth Independent School District. Prior to completing his doctorate, he served as an Associate School Psychologist with the Lancaster and Desoto Independent School Districts. Dr. Childress earned a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from the Rosemead Graduate School of Professional Psycholgy and a Bachelor of Science (with honors) degree in Psychology from the University of Houston.
Past and present Licensure and Certifications include Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and Listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. Dr. Childress has served as president of the Tarrant County Psychological Association, Vice President of Programs for the Tarrant Council of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, and President of Revellie Toastmasters.
Dr. Childress has been married since 1980 and has three grown children and four grandchildren.
